Greetings to My Fellow Winos & Beer Geeks!
This has been a wild month so far! First we celebrated our 6th Anniversary on April Fool's Day & then we had our Spring/Celebration of the Repeal of Prohibition Tasting on Easter/Passover Weekend. Thank you to all that attended these events & especially to those of you that attended both & the Friday the 13th event last weekend!
We also have teamed up with our good friends at Ad Lib to enjoy monthly Wine Dinner/Events. We will have the info at the store, but Rick & his staff at Ad Lib will be handling all reservations. (And of course, the cuisine!)
Beer Geek Alert!
We just received a new beer from Brooklyn NY called Sixpoint. Four different styles, all in cans. Besides, there's always something else! There's always a few new Brewskies coming out, so stop by & see what this week brings. It is time for Summer Beers. (that's unless we already had summer!?) Remember, always ask! Wow! A rep from the Bud/Gooseweiser distributor stopped in 2 weeks ago to tell me he was going to be by to talk beer! (We shall see? One visit doesn't mean a lot.)

Saturday April 21st Brenna of Wine-O-Rama & Andrew of Glunz Wine Distributing at the store 1-5pm
Brenna will offering some new wines, such as a new Vinho Verde, Cabriz Rose, Red Zeppelin's, White Zeppelin (Viognier)! Andrew reps some great wines, but I realize that here in Lake County, especially Grayslake everyone sees Glunz & thinks of the local winery. Nothing to say bad about those wines, but this is a distributor of fine wines from all over the world, not just Grayslake, IL. If you haven't tasted a Ridge, Dry Creek or Pedroncelli wine out of California, you've been missing out! What he'll pour Saturday will be decided in the next day or two...(We may have to investigate!)
Friday April 20th Trinitas Winery at the store 6-9pm
If you don't know already, the Trinitas Mysterium that is 39% Carignane finished 2nd to the Wild Hog Carignane at The Big Red in February. Well, they do make a few other tasty morsels as well, so since they're in town, we thought we'd bring them by for a visit. We will be visited by Garrett Busch, son of the owners & Director of Operations for the winery.
Friday May 4th Kurt Yost of Cream Distributing at the store 5-8pm
The wines will be decided soon, but I feel some Crios & Susana Balbo will be on the menu. Obviously at least one Rose!
Friday May 11th Mother's Day Eve, Eve! with Yvonne Miska & her many wines! 6-9pm
You've met her before & she's planning on adding a few French or two to the mix. Wente Nth Degree &..., well, we'll figure it out!
Friday May 18th Dave from Fox Deluxe Beer & ??? Wine Person? at the store 6-9pm
It's the weekend before Memorial Day so, we thought it would be a good time to find some goodies for the weekend. This will be our first event with Dave & Fox Deluxe. They are mainly a Beer Distributor, thus the focus with him, will be beer! Some new things & some beers that our Beer Geeks will recognize, such as the Boulevard Beers from KC. The wine participant will be decided at a later date. Stay tuned.
Saturday May 19th The Make A Wish Foundation Event at the store 6-??? $10 at the door!
We hosted this event last year & it was a big hit! We'll have 3-4 wine folks here & a few brewskies as well. Joe Miretti, Kurt of Wine Cru, Jerry of Connoisseur, so far &...? We shall see? There will be raffles & plenty of munchies.
